Project Description
WP2 is in charge of the Dissemination and Outreach of GISELA. As such it focuses on advertising the project achievements through bulletins, web sites, news, meetings, press articles etc. It also prospects new Research Groups that may benefit from using its Grid e-Infrastructure.
WP2 gets contributions from all the GISELA Partners. It is subdivided into three (3) tasks:
TWP2.1: Coordination of the Work Package (led by ULA)
The aim of this task is to deal with administrative issues related to WP2 coordination and management, such as Deliverables and Reports editing and budget monitoring, and with the definition of requirements and the evaluation of costs of a sustainable dissemination and outreach activity.
TWP2.2: Dissemination (led by ULA)
The dissemination task is working at raising awareness about the e-Infrastructure and the supported Virtual Research Communities (VRC) by advertising GISELA among researchers and Decision Makers in Latin America
TWP2.3: Outreach (led by CLARA)
This task devises and implements the means to find particular Communities that can benefit from GISELA.

The quality of management of the Project, to a large extent, conditions its success. The scale of the GISELA Consortium calls for very well structured management, able to accommodate all usual administrative, financial and technical tasks, albeit ensuring the proper environment to deliver production level services to various kinds of users of the e-Infrastructure. On the other hand, the Management Activity takes advantage of the 2-year EELA-2 experience, with the same coordinating Institution: CIEMAT, the same Project Office run by HLP Développement SA (HLP) and moreover with an established modus operandi based on existing well-defined administrative procedures and policies.
The "Administrative and Technical Management" Work Package (WP1) is subdivided into three (3) tasks:
TWP1.1: Administrative and Technical Management (led by CIEMAT)
The major concern of TWP1.1 is to offer an administrative environment providing all the necessary services to the Consortium members, making full use of the Website as being the main repository for all documents, e.g. meeting information, workshop, conference announcements, distribution lists, project bulletins, etc.
The Technical management of GISELA has the entire responsibility of the setting up, development and successful conclusion of all technical activities, in agreement with the objectives of the Project
TWP1.2: Long-term Sustainability - Policy and International Cooperation (led by INFN)
This task is responsible for the definition of the strategies and road-maps for the long-term sustainability of the e-Infrastructure. For this purpose liaisons with related projects have been established and fomented.
TWP1.3: Transition to the CLARA Administrative and Technical Management (led by CLARA)
The job of TWP1.3 will be to work out and implement the transition plan to handover the operation of the e-Infrastructure and the User support to CLARA. This will imply the CLARA team in GISELA to chronologically:
- Participate in WP1, WP2, WP3 and WP4 activities to become familiar with all aspects of those tasks;
- Work out the details of the CLARA Business plan and sustainability model based on the Life Cycle Product Management (LCPM), of CLARA new Service Structure strategy to develop networking services in Latin America;
- Implement the CLARA Business plan through a transition phase;
- Monitor the Transition phase in all activities, identifying the bottlenecks and taking the steps to resolve them.

GISELA is putting in place an Equal Opportunities Policy for the lifetime of the Project, in close collaboration with the Partner Institutions. The fact that GISELA is not an Institution but a Consortium of Partners of a 2-year lifetime delimitates the reach of the Gender policy to:
- Promoting and supporting equal opportunities in all Partner Institutions in their GISELA activities, on the basis of a Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP);
- Ensuring a fair treatment of minorities in staff recruitment.

Using information from the GISELA Timesheet tool, one obtains the current overall figures: 122 registered persons, of which 33 females (27%). It appears that the GISELA gender distribution is quite the same as it was in EELA-2.

Gender agreement
The Gender Equality Action Plan (GEAP), coordinated by the Project Management, includes three lines of actions:
- Get a Statement of Intent (SoI) of all Partners not already submitted to a local Equal Opportunity Programme (EOP), on an GISELA Gender Agreement (GENDAG) ensuring equality of treatment of persons regardless, inter alia, of sex, ethnic origin, physical handicap, sexual orientation or religion in all aspects of their professional environment;
- Create a Web site page promoting both the GEAP and GENDAG, and highlighting efforts to improve the gender balance;
- Guaranty equal opportunity in recruitments by inserting both on the Web site recruitment page and each vacancy notice the statement: “In line with our policy of Equal Opportunities, we encourage both men and women with relevant qualifications to apply”.
The Project Management is following the monitoring of the Equal Opportunity evolution. In case of clearly established unfair treatment of minorities, direct interaction will occur with the corresponding Partner.
